Unlike conventional smartphones, this concept integrates a gimbal robotic arm on which the rear camera is mounted: it can be deployed from the back of the device, rotate 360°, follow subjects or frame automatically without manual intervention.
This hardware is associated with multimodal artificial intelligence capable of analyzing the environment – light, movement, distance – and adapting the behavior of the camera module (and perhaps other functions) over time. Honor describes the device as an “emotional companion”: a smartphone that is not just a tool, but a device capable of feeling, reacting and evolving.
It is important to emphasize that the Robot Phone is currently a concept: Honor has not yet published the full specifications, nor confirmed the colors, nor even the precise marketing date. The company says all these details will be revealed during Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona.
