Initially it was just a question to made a news bulletin for the amateurs of
material Nikon..
A club was even in gestation: Nikon Club of France proposed by Mr. Kerr but this club never was born. Nikon having created,

Smoothly the bulletins followed one after one, initially to deliver technical information on the new materials then to
indicate progress of numerical against silver cameras.
The site changes its name from NCF (Nikon Club of France) to APPHOTNUM (French acronym that means : DIGital PHOTo CAMeras ).
With the time the pages became more personal, Nikon France, at which theses web sheets were presented, considered it
regrettable that some sheets praise the material of other manufacturers but sometimes (often) those products are better or
advances on Nikon. E.g.: Canon has sensors full-frame for a long time, Olympus has a dust-protecting device and Minolta-Sony a device of development integrated into the camera. Why do not say it?
The technical part decreased because now information on the new cameras is plethoric on the Web. The bible on the Web
remaining the site Pictorial History of Nikon.
Web site APPHOTNUM remained very personal but articles of other people are welcome.
No forum, No advertisement, a total independence and yet nearly 10 000 visitors per month.
The site Nikon Passion chose another way and has a great success.
Recently the site opened on some portraits of photographers. Because the result is more important than the technique.
The brand of cameras used by these photographers is not important.
The evolution of this site is difficult to imagine except ,maybe, new articles to give pleasure, on old cameras
also some YouTube videos, surely less pages of news.
Don’t hesitate to say me what you would to see for the ten next years.
