The Canon 1D was already the synthesis of the best of Nikon D1H and Nikon D1X,
it is also built on a more modern SLR camera and is protected against water streaming, its CCD is near of Nikon D1X's and its
shooting possibilities are better than Nikon D1H. Today, it is the most multi-purpose digital SLR camera with the large possibilities.
The new Canon 1DS, showed in Photokina 2002, allows Canon to reinforce its advance and to outclass easily Nikon D1 cameras which are getting on.
The CMOS sensor of the Canon 1DS has the same surface as 24 x 36. It offers a largely best definition that the format 24 x 36 itself
without correction of focal.
Nikon has therefore to react rapidly, as much as Kodak with its new DCS14n
is also a terrific challenger. We have just to wait ... a Nikon D2 in 2003 ?
