News from CP+ and CES 2021

Virtual fairs

In 2021, the main shows were canceled due to the COVID-19 epidemic.
The 2020 edition of the Photokina was first suspended and then the organization of the Photokina finally announced that after 70 years of existence, it was shutting down the show for an indefinite period. This decision is due to the constant decline of the photography market which no longer provides a viable basis for the international photography fair.

Both CP⁺ 2021 and CES 2021 were virtual fairs with a significant drop in exhibitors and visitors.

In photo, the only news of the CP ⁺ are:

The Pentax K3 Mark III, which is one of the latest digital SLRs sold, when other Photo brands are all migrating to mirrorless cameras.
This camera is dedicated for expert users with its magnesium alloy construction, a 25.7 megapixel sensor in APS-C format and stabilized, an adjustable sensitivity up to ISO 1,600,000, a large optical viewfinder, a dual location for UHS-11 SD card, Bluetooth 4.2 and Wi-Fi, USB-C for fast transfers or charging or battery power while shooting, HDMI Type D jack, headphone and mic jacks, revised ergonomics, tropicalization, and even 4K video.
The Pentax K-3 Mark III is available in silver or black version at a price of $ 1,999 body only (March 2021).

The Sony FX3 video camera is the little sister of the FX6 presented last year. It takes the form of a Sony Alpha 7C (A7C) by adding a ball-head screen and controls specific to the video.
It has the same stabilized 24x36 sensor of 12.1 Mpx (10.2 Mpx usable in video) as the Sony A7S III, does not have an electronic viewfinder but a cooling system, a double UHS-II/CFexpress SD card slot, 4K UHD video modes up to 120 fps (Long GOP and 4:2:2 10 bits internally). It is powered by the NP-FZ100 battery.
The Sony FX3 is priced at $ 4,700 (March 2021).

CES 2021 is full of smartphones, microcomputers and televisions. No camera presented but we can remember:

The launch by Canon of an interactive site to highlight its activity in the field of satellites. In June 2017, Canon launched a satellite around the Earth, the CE-SAT 1. Sony presents its Sony Airpeak S1 drone, it is the smallest drone capable of carrying an Alpha Series and FX3 camera. It goes from 0 to 90 km/h in 3.5 seconds, can reach the maximum flight speed of 90 km/h, remains stable with winds up to 72 km/h (20 m/s) for a range of 22 minutes of flight time. It is equipped with four rotors, 5 camera and 2 sensor vision systems, two batteries on the top of the device and folding arms for easy shooting and obstacle avoidance and braking function. It is possible to create and pilot automated flight plans.
The Sony Airpeak S1 is priced at $ 9,000, without gimbal and camera (fall 2021).
