CES 2026: A tech event without photos or videos
Like previous years, CES (Consumer Electronics Show) is a showcase for innovations in computer science and consumer electronics, and therefore less so for photography, which has become a niche market.

Among the most unexpected innovations:

LEGO announced a smart brick, the Smart Brick, packed with sensors and wirelessly rechargeable. It's a standard-sized 2x4 stud brick. But more importantly, it's a standalone device integrating a processor, a battery, a speaker, an accelerometer, a gyroscope, a microphone, an LED lighting system, and an inductive wireless charging system. This brick is capable of physically interacting with the rest of the construction and adapting to the game being played.
The first LEGO SMART Play : "75427 Throne Room Duel and A-Wing" of STAR WARS will cost for $ 160.

Meta, for its part, announced the Meta Ray-Ban Display. Like the Oakley Meta, they have built-in headphones and a microphone, a photo/video trigger, Meta AI, music playback, and compatibility with the Meta group's messaging services.
The Meta Ray-Ban Display features a mini-screen in the right lens and requires a connected wristband to function.
The Meta Ray-Ban Display is available for $ 799 (January 2026).

Fujifilm has unveiled the Instax Mini Evo Cinema, a new hybrid instant camera capable of capturing video and inspired by the design of the Fujica Single-8i.
The Mini Evo Cinema can record 15-second video clips and can apply vintage effects directly to the shot. By scanning the printed QR code, recipients can view, download, or share the clip. Videos remain accessible for two years.
The Mini Evo Cinema features a dual dial: an "Eras Dial" to select from 10 effects inspired by different eras, from the 1930s to the 2020s, which can be applied to both videos and photos as soon as they are taken. The second intensity dial allows you to adjust each effect across 10 levels.

The Fujifilm Instax Mini Evo Cinema is available for $ 410 (January 2026).







Ricoh GR IV Monochrome

The Ricoh GR IV Monochrome is intended as a competitor to the Leica Q3 Monochrom.
It's a variant of the GR IV compact camera, featuring a 26-megapixel APS-C sensor and a 28mm equivalent lens with an f/2.8 aperture. It does not have a color filter.

The Ricoh GR IV Monochrome is available for $ 2,200 (January 2026).
