OpenAI presented new videos created by artificial intelligence. The result is quite stunning and of a level of quality never before achieved.
Beyond what this means for the future of creative jobs (as highlighted by the strike of authors and screenwriters in Hollywood in 2023) or for our understanding of photos and video, the greatest fear comes above all from what this means for the future of objective truth, disinformation and power.
If it's no longer possible to tell what's real (AI-generated videos that look real as well as real videos that others claim are fake), nothing is real except what you choose to believe. The last decade has shown us globally the dangers of social media-fueled echo chambers; with selective facts comes selective reality and, ultimately, further division and harm to society.
We can also imagine that in a few years, it will be possible for everyone to create their own family videos using artificial intelligence. They will rely on personal video and photo libraries to create moments of life that have never existed.

Leica has unveiled the Leica M11-P, one of the first cameras in the world, along with the Nikon Z9, to be equipped with Content Credentials to guarantee the authenticity of photos from the moment they are taken.
Content Credentials are a new type of tamper-proof metadata. They allow creators to add additional information about themselves and their creative process directly to their content when exporting or uploading it. They are part of a growing ecosystem of technologies available as part of the Content Authenticity Initiative (CAI). Adobe and CAIs 1,200+ members are committed to restoring trust online.
Among the members of the CAI, we find Adobe, Intel, Microsoft, ARM and the New York Times who participate in the establishment of this standard which requires that from the triggering of the camera to the reader who consults an article on n No matter what type of device, tools compatible with CAI are present.
The CAI will be a real shield of protection against false images.
